Scope Awards – honours for the best funds, investment companies and certificate provider

Scope had the pleasure of hosting the 18th edition of its annual awards for outstanding achievements in liquid and alternative investments. J.P. Morgan Asset Management was named as best universal provider. Carmignac won as best ESG universal provider.

Scope, the leading European rating agency, and media partner Handelsblatt honoured the best funds, investment companies and certificate providers in 54 categories. Scope’s experts analysed around 12,000 funds and almost 1,900 asset managers and certificate providers. As in previous years, Barbara Schöneberger hosted the ceremony on the evening of 16 November in Frankfurt.

Scope Awards for investment funds (UCITS)

In the UCITS funds category, asset managers and funds won awards in a total of 30 categories. The award for best universal provider went to J.P. Morgan Asset Management. The firm’s broad product range and array of robust portfolios convinced the jury.

The award for the best specialised provider went to three winners this year: Lupus alpha (for Germany), Flossbach von Storch (Austria) and Luzerner Kantonalbank (Switzerland).

The best ESG universal provider was Carmignac. The company's sustainable funds account for an impressive 90% of assets under management.

The award for the best ESG specialised provider went to Metzler Asset Management. It was one of the first German asset managers to sign the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment in 2012.

DWS won the coveted award in the Multi Asset category. The company impressed with an extremely broad offering and a stable investment team.

Scope Awards for Alternative Investment Funds (AIF)

In the alternative investment fund category, there were awards in 20 categories. The winner in three of these categories was Deka Immobilien: Real Estate Global, Retail Real Estate Europe and Real Estate Logistics.

Union Investment Real Estate was awarded in the Retail Real Estate Germany category. Its broadly diversified mutual fund outperformed its competitors in the peer group with returns which remain high.

DWS won the award for the Infrastructure Equity segment. It also impressed the jury with the strong performance of its infrastructure investments.

The award in the Private Debt category went to Blackstone. With almost 300 investment experts and an extensive network, the asset manager has excellent access to transactions.

The winner in the Private Equity category was Partners Group. The company impressed with its many years of experience in this area and the high returns of its products.

Scope Awards for the best certificate providers

Scope presented awards to the providers of investment certificates in four categories. The best primary market provider was DekaBank, while Société Générale impressed the jury in the secondary market category. The Trading Award went to BNP Paribas this year. Landesbank Baden-Württemberg received the ESG Award in the certificates category.
